Bob Milligan is the Managing Partner and Founder of 1792 Wealth Advisors, where he is responsible for business development, client service and operations, and for his investment advisory and wealth management practice.
Bob has extensive experience in the financial services industry, having held several senior-level roles in branch management, client relationship management and investment management, most recently as senior vice president, branch manager at Morgan Stanley Smith Barney.
Prior to his role at Morgan Stanley, Bob was a vice president, investment strategist with Wachovia Wealth Management in the Northern New Jersey/New York Metro market. In this role he had investment oversight and portfolio management responsibilities and was responsible for new business development for the region.
He began his career in the industry in 1996 as a financial advisor with Merrill Lynch, where he spent 10 years building and managing a highly successful wealth management practice providing customized investment solutions and comprehensive wealth plans to individuals, families and institutional investors. He also served as a producing sales manager, responsible for hiring and training financial advisor recruits and for the creation of the financial advisor mentor program.
Bob has significant expertise in working with high net worth and ultra-high net worth individuals, families, mid to small institutions and their advisors. He is a highly sophisticated investment professional with a breadth of experience in investment policy and asset allocation development and monitoring; asset management; trust and estate planning; concentrated stock hedging and diversification strategies; philanthropic planning; insurance planning; and lending and liability management.
Bob is a dynamic leader and team player who is often the central point of contact bringing together the client, their advisors, the firm’s intellectual capital and management to deliver complex, comprehensive wealth management client solutions.
Bob is a graduate of Hofstra University and received the CIMA® designation from the Wharton School at The University of Pennsylvania. He also holds the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner (CFP®) certification and is a member of the Investment Management Consulting Association.
Bob is also a professionally trained philanthropic auctioneer who specializes in calling live benefit and charity auctions. He has worked with many of the leading nonprofit and philanthropic organizations in New York and New Jersey as the auctioneer for their major benefit events. This voluntary service has created a tremendous value to the organizations he serves and consistently helps these organizations maximize their fundraising efforts. This unique philanthropy creates a natural market for providing wealth management services to the nonprofit clients he serves and the donors who support those organizations.
Bob lives in Basking Ridge, New Jersey, with his wife, Larissa, and their three children.
